CREALIS unveils “Effervescence! by Gérard Liger‑Belair”, a new muselet collection blending science and aesthetics.
CREALIS France presents Art Collection No.13, “Effervescence! by Gérard Liger‑Belair,” a unique series of muselets celebrating the universal signature of sparkling wines: the bubble. Produced at the historic Muselet Valentin site in Champagne, this edition highlights local craftsmanship and CREALIS’s recognized industrial expertise in the world of muselets.
Designed in collaboration with Champagne physicist and photographer Gérard Liger‑Belair, the collection translates the beauty and complexity of effervescence into design. Conceived as a visual exploration, it traces the different stages in the life of a bubble in the glass, from its formation to its burst, through elegant, contemporary black‑and‑white graphic creations.

An ode to effervescence
Conceived as a true visual journey, Art Collection No. 13 retraces the destiny of a bubble, from its silent birth at the heart of the wine to its burst at the surface.
This series of six black‑and‑white muselets, of great purity, is inspired by the work of physicist and photographer Gérard Liger‑Belair, a worldwide reference in the study of Champagne bubbles. The collection translates invisible phenomena, those of gas transfer occurring during traditional fermentation, into a more sensory language; phenomena he has helped to decipher and photograph.
Balancing scientific precision and poetic vision, this collection reveals the full complexity, finesse and beauty of effervescence: the vibrant, living signature of Champagne.
When science becomes creative inspiration
Gérard Liger‑Belair, professor at the University of Reims Champagne‑Ardenne and a global reference in the study of bubbles, dedicates his research to the mechanisms of gas exchange in sparkling wines and their impact on tasting. At the intersection of science and imagery, he has been capturing the life of bubbles for years (from their formation to their burst) through scientific photography.
Art Collection No. 13 draws directly from his work. His images reveal the full beauty of effervescence and have notably contributed to the development of the Up2Bubbly application by CREALIS.
