Crealis accelerates sustainability by doubling renewable energy use and strengthening path to decarbonization
-24% CO2 emissions, 18% to 42% renewable electricity and -9% accidents at work: these are just some of the results of the latest sustainability report. The role of innovation is strategic, leading to the development of products made from recycled and alternative materials and lightened components
Bodio Lomnago, September 2026 – The Sustainability Report 2025 tells the story of a year of profound transformation for the Group: product innovation, investments in renewable energy and growing attention to people and customers.
Among the most significant results is the sharp increase in the use of electricity from renewable sources, which rose from 18% to 42% of the Group’s total needs, thanks to investments in photovoltaic production, process electrification and energy efficiency. These initiatives have contributed to the reduction of Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions (direct and indirect emissions related to purchased energy) by 24% compared to 2024 and reinforce the goal of building a less carbon-intensive future.
Alongside environmental aspects, the report highlights the role of innovation. In 2025, Crealis expanded its portfolio of solutions with reduced environmental impact, developing products that use recycled materials, lightweight components and alternative materials. Innovations include the Virtuo recycled tin capsule, the TOP-L cork liner for crown caps, which allow significant reductions in the carbon footprint compared to conventional products, and the Green Tech line, which also offers solutions with recycled content and alternative materials, such as the Symbiosis capsulone, made mainly of paper coupled with aluminum, an example of a design that combines aesthetics, technical performance and sustainability.
Great attention was also paid to people with the satisfactory result of a reduction in accidents at work equal to -9% and 5 of the 8 European production sites certified ISO 45001 (international standard for occupational health and safety management systems). The launch of the first Group-wide Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) survey made it possible to collect valuable information on employee engagement and future priorities in terms of leadership and talent development.
At the same time, in addition to the strengthening of the culture of safety, the culture of responsibility in the supply chain continues, with 81% of strategic suppliers having signed the Crealis code of conduct and 20 of strategic suppliers assessed on the basis of ESG criteria.
“2025 – comments Enrico Bracesco, CEO of Crealis – represented an important year of transformation for Crealis. In a context characterized by new economic and environmental challenges, we have continued to strengthen the Group and transform our sustainability commitments into concrete actions. Looking ahead to 2026, we will continue to accelerate the path of integration, innovation and decarbonization to create value for our customers while reducing environmental impact.”
